The historical origins of the palace and city of Jaisalmer date back to the 12th century, when the city was founded in 1156 AD by Maharaja Jaisal, who wanted to move his capital from Ludhiana to a safer place. The ruling families of this eastern state are descendants of the Rajput dynasty.

3.  Best Time To Visit Jaisalmer

October to March is the best time to visit Jaisalmer as the weather remains pleasant during this time.

Golden-yellow to brown, mostly fine to medium-grained, fine bed, hard sandstones are classified as calcareous aranite by a wide range of researchers.

Framework quartz grains are mainly cemented with monocrystalline, mostly carbonate and some iron oxides. Ornamental yellow limestone and sandstone rocks have been mined around the city of Jaisalmer for decades, and many countries demand them for their attractive colors, textures and beauty. 

Yellow limestone and limestone sandstone are commonly traded as yellow marble and are commonly used as floors, wall coverings, counter tops and most importantly decorative stones.
